Share your training

Hi

aren’t you curious to know how the other fellow swimmers, and readers of this blog are
training? I am, and I am sure all of us would learn from each other experience.
So why not to share it!
I would like to make this session of the site a place were we can chat and share about our life in the pool.

Please leave a comment and tell us how you train, why you do it, what is your preferred
stroke, which are the best 5 drills for you, and anything else you want to share with us about your swimming.

I hope to see a lot of you posting.

All the best and keep healthy, keep swimming.
Gab

    I usually do

    400 warm up
    10X100 m freestyle
    20X50 m freestyle
    drills
    warm down

My aim is to get my 100m under 56sec. I am 42 and just started swimming again after 20 years,
I am now competing in the master circuit.

Let me know what you think. Great site btw

Hey man! what about total distance, you must be around 3000/3200 meters, right? 100m in less than a minute, very cool! I am trying to reach 80 secs. I am 40 and swim 3/4 times a week, sesssions are all between 3000 and 3400 mts, they all have 400/600 mts of warm up and cool down; some days I focus on the aerobic side and do at first let’s say three sets of 600 mts each and then I turn to the anaerobic side and swim 8 x 50mts + 5 x 40 mts (and some days I do less aerobic and more anaerobic -not that it’s planned, it’s just how I feel that day). And I have started to do drills in almost each session, as recommended by Gab.

All in all I’m swimming at 3 min 05 secs each 200 mts, 1.20/25 secs the 100′s and 30 secs each 40 mts.

I am not competing, altough thinking to start doing it in the local master circuit (I’m from Argentina, BTW).

Great site, keep it up !!
    Cheerz,
    Nico

    Dear Guys,
I’ve been swimming for several years and have taken part in several lake/sea/river swimming competitions as well. I was usually in the first 10-35% percent of participants but was hard to imagine how I can be more durable or faster… Till now!! :) ) Yet after only the 2nd day training I felt a real breakthrough! :o
Thanks so much and keep it going on,
    Tamás
